I’ve been hired by a school to lecture a good number of graduating students regarding careers in the fitness industry, fitness based technologies and other ideas for young adults looking for a career in the fitness field. When providing any success based guidance in any field, you must first review the basics of self sabotage, which is sort of the opposite of what most lecturers do. Most lecturers today provide a how to guide for success and then spend ZERO TIME explaining why most people are afraid of success. Inside all humans is a need to conform to the consensus and that means most people (although completely capable of running their own business or inventing a fitness product that can have them retire in less than 1 year)…..they simply have been conditioned to believe that they need to work hard, 6 days per week, for 30 years…..to make their dreams come true. This of course isn’t true what so ever. This sort of mental block to success must first be addressed, so people can understand that if you want to retire early and live your life to the fullest, it’s completely possible. What ever you focus on and what ever you think is normal, you will achieve. If you think working 9-6 is normal, that’s what you’ll get. If you think inventing a revolutionary process, book or other product is normal (so you can retire early), that’s what you’ll get. Your beliefs lead your behavior. The consensus and the herd of mediocrity have certain “beliefs” that inhibit their true potential and that’s how I’m going to start the lecture. Let’s really teach these kids what’s truly possible.
Whatever You Think is Normal is What You Will Achieve
