Guy stops me and says, “I heard you’re against coffee. Why exactly are you against it?”
So I show him the video below, which demonstrates that coffee cuts the oxygen to your brain by 52%…….and that effect lasts for 24 hours. The video shows a 40% reduction in blood flow to the brain, but when measured it was 52%. That percentage explained in the book at this added link. So if you drink one cup of coffee every 24 hours (and many drink that or more), you’re literally operating with half a brain. How are your relationships going, with half a brain? How are your finances going with half a brain? Want to start a business? Good idea, but how will you fare with half a brain, against your competitors who don’t drink coffee, who have all the oxygen getting to their brains? And guess what? Like a bad infomercial it gets worse.
Most people drink more than one cup and when someone drinks coffee, there’s a good chance their lifestyle isn’t “super healthy” on other fronts as well, which reduces brain capacity even more. But wait, it gets worse, if that’s even possible. Because caffeine is a poison, it triggers our fight or flight response. When our fight or flight response is activated, the brain inhibits higher IQ functions and initiates activation in the brain stem (the reptilian part of the brain), associated with extremely low IQ, childlike behavior, sex, food, violence and defense of territory. That means when you drink coffee (just one cup) you reduce oxygen to the brain by just over 50% but the part of the brain that becomes over active from the caffeine, is the extremely stupid and primitive part of our brain complex.
I’m not really against coffee, I explained to this man. I’m against you losing your way in this world because coffee/caffeine makes you inept, stunned, bewildered, disoriented and stupid. Fact. Proven. It’s time to start caring again, about everything. Our social engineers love this of course, because it nudges us in the direction that they want……..toward not thinking as a way of life, toward it being easier to allow them to think for us, toward us cheer leading and supporting a society where big brother takes the position of “thinker/controller“…..as we’re sedated and chemically lobotomized by the feel good poisons of coffee, fluoride, MSG, caffeine drinks, junk food, meds, sugar, wheat, nicotine, vaccines, alcohol, narcotics etc. Why think when we can tune out? Why think when we can party and feel chemically disconnected? Why think when we can take orders and become followers of the media, government and science doctrine? “THINKING” is now under attack and it’s chemical lobotomy that’s being encouraged at every turn by our human farmers. Can you make your life super successful with only half a brain (or less)? Most likely not. And that folks is why I don’t drink coffee or ingest any large doses of caffeine. Try moving through your life, applying a full brain to all your decisions. Your journey’s end destination will be better for it. Promise.

Well, I’ve made it this far (soon to be 67 yrs) and fairly out of the box creative and awakened, with my half brain, drinking maybe 10 cups of barista coffee per day… š
You could be better of course, but better in our society often comes with attack and ridicule. This is why people hide in addictions, because it offers safety from attack, inside a society that rewards sameness and dysfunction. Be better anyway.
Hi Jason!
I’m curious about your thoughts on “biochemical individuality”, the concept that the nutritional and chemical make-up of each person is unique and that dietary and other needs vary from person to person. Could it be possible that coffee might affect people differently. Perhaps a continuum with some people experiencing adverse effects and others positive?
Thanks
In the case of a powerful poisonous alkaloid like caffeine, I don’t think so. It’s like someone saying they react favorably to Rice Krispies, it’s impossible although the person may believe they are reacting in a positive way. Poison is called poison for a reason.
I can relate to, reacting differently. Some say they can’t drink coffee after 6.PM, because it will ruin their sleep at night. I have NEVER had such problems. Never had any problems drinking coffee late at night even… š
You can’t verify this claim unless you clone yourself. Of course caffeine interferes with sleep and/or destroys the body on some other level. If a person takes caffeine and can sleep afterwards, it means their adrenal system has been destroyed because of the caffeine, which leads to a whole other set of issues. Caffeine is also a fat gainer. How much to do you weight Roland?
Coffee comes from beans grown in nature. How are these coffee beans brain poisons? Perhaps organic coffee is not toxic? Perhaps coffee grown and sprayed with pesticides is what is toxic to the brain?Worth further investigation and questioning.I really enjoy my coffee, but I do notice i can get anxious if i drink more than 2 cups. I make an effort to drink organic coffee. Also, i have read contrary articles claiming the health benefits of coffee.I would like more evidence and research on organic coffee vs conventional coffee.
Read the book Caffeine Blues by Dr. Stephen Cheminskie. That’s all the info you’ll need. Coffee is a poison and is purposely distributed far and wide because of its brain damaging effects.
Coffee is my vice. It’s smell, taste and warmth are difficult to give up. I had a HARD time giving up sugar, but I did it several years ago. Outside of coffee, I live an extraordinary healthy lifestyle.Whole foods plant based diet, daily exercise, clean water, sunshine, high nutrition status, avoiding processed foods, sugar, gluten, no meds, no vaccines in 16 years.Positive mind set as much as possible with music, family and friends.
Can you specifically discuss your comment on coffee being a ‘fat gainer’ please?
Caffeine activates the flight or fight system. One of the aspects of that system is fat preservation and fat accumulation.
As usual, Jason, you cherry-pick data that supports what you choose to believe, rather than critically examine all available data. Unfortunately, neither history, nor modern business leaders support your argument.
In the past when I’ve brought forth the entirety of data, you’ve accused me of justifying my caffeine addiction; although I rarely drink coffee, usually only in social settings, have become less angry and violent in the past few years, which is the only time I ever drank coffee (I’m not saying there is a correlation, just refuting your assertion), have become much more successful in business (currently owning 5 successful businesses), relationships, and every other aspect of life. History and a look at current business leaders reveals the same- that coffee does not decrease brain activity.
But, continue in your efforts to propagandize all until they all worship you and think only as you think.
By the way, I’m 6’1″, weighing 195 with a 29″ waist. I lost 40# of fat, gaining back 25# of muscle since beginning to occasionally drink coffee (again, I’m not the one making the correlation). And, I’ve become a vegetarian in the past year, have been producing and eating only grass-fed, grass-finished meats the past several years as well as my own vegetables.
The book by Dr. Stephen Chemiskie “Caffeine Blues” reviews all data regarding caffeine and coffee, tracing all positive studies of caffeine back to being fraudulent and supported by one group, the Coffee Lobby. You are free to live a lie but it’s a waste of freedom. No one works better with poison, no one……….
Great article. I experienced this first hand recently. I had stopped coffee for over 8 months then got hooked again for about a month. It was really affecting my whole life. Found myself more irritable, scattered, more fatigued and was starting to get heart pain from it which is what helped me stop drinking it. Just 1 day and I already feel more focused and I actually felt like a weight was lifted off my chest so breathing felt better. I was drinking organic too. Just black. I read caffeine blues a few years ago which had prompted me to give it up many times, but sometimes we have to learn hard way ; )
I had long suspected that coffee/caffeine was the cause of my anxiety, moodiness and skin irritation. I only drank one cup per day.I quit a week and two days ago and after three days of hellish headaches all of these symptoms started to disappear. I also had pain in my neck, shoulders and upper back which also disappeared. My energy levels are much more even now and I am not exhausted by the time I leave work.
I have hardly rank coffee, but in recent years sometimes, and it is addictive – can feel the effect straight away. I read as well it doesn’t give you energy, just uses up the energy in your system, so will deplete it even quicker! Nope, going back to green tea. I needed verification – thank you! I totally support this article. Just because coffee is fashionable, as were cigarettes, doesn’t make it ok. I have also started to drink dandelion root tea, which you can prepare similarly as coffee and has a similar effect, just doesn’t have the negative health repercussions as coffee! thank you
What other means for energizing naturally do you suggest ? Great article by the way
Sleep, whole organic live food, water, sunshine, relaxation and connection to nature and other humans.
Coffee is awful for women. Causes all kinds of disruptions with hormones, adrenals, secretes cortisol, basically adds stress and anxiety to your entire system for 24 hours. Enjoy!
Hi Jason,
I have followed you for a few years now, just quietly lurking in the background. For a long time I justified my caffeine (not just coffee) addiction based on the short term benefits I received from its consumption. It was from the consistent posts (not just yours) in my news feed that led me down the rabbit hole. I cut coffee in particular out of my daily life well over a year ago now. It took some time to get past the headaches, eased occasionally by a caffeinated tea. But Iām not looking back. I read many of the above comments of people justifying their addictions and i understand where they are at. I just wanted to say thanks and keep up the great work. You are making a difference.
Kind Regards,
Cain Size
Finally, someone else who believes as I do, that coffee is poison. One of the most widely abused drugs in the world, disguised as food and frequently flavored with the most addictive and abused drugs known to mankind…..sugar!!! I struggle still with sugar, though I am back off of it in all it’s forms again. Coffee I have been free of for over 25 years and I don’t miss it at all. Keep up the great work Jason!!
I dont doubt what youre saying.. I know I feel 100x better when caffeine free.. less pain, more energy… but am yet to find a) somerhing that can wake me up enough to keep me safely functional and b) that hits a migraine like the combination of caffeine and quinine (another poison Im sure). In saying that Im completely open to suggestions… though it needs to take about tbe same amount of time. Id love an alternative. And advice on how to deal with the 10day withdrawal headache.
Thanks for your refreshing and unapologetic post. I’ve read Caffeine Blues (twice) and it motivated me to give up my Diet Pepsi habit of 30 years (!) I can testify that caffeine is a toxic, addictive substance because quitting it has–not kidding–been the hardest thing I’ve ever done. People laugh and say “it’s just Diet Pepsi,” but it’s not–it’s a hardcore caffeine addiction and was destroying my body. I couldn’t get out of bed or go workout without popping a can, which was the first of ten more I’d have that day. People often say they “feel great” and “healthy” while drinking coffee, soda, energy drinks or pre-workouts, but take those drinks AWAY from them and then see how “great” they feel. I thought I felt fine on caffeine–I ran marathons, took care of my family, served in my church, had good relationships–but I was always tired, in a brain fog and could never sleep–what kind of “fine” is that? Even though I did good things, it was like I was always working against my body. When I stopped drinking caffeine, I went through serious depression, lethargy, and headaches for the first six weeks, and still felt like a zombie for several weeks after that. Sure, before quitting I was “fine”–as long as I had my drug! Take it away, and life seemed pointless. People constantly quote “research” justifying caffeine use, but my own experience is all the research I need. If I feel that miserable without my daily dose of a drug, then it is a drug indeed.
Been off my soda for months now and am feeling fantastic. I sleep deep and well every. single. night–something I haven’t done, literally, in 30 years. Even as a teen, I struggled with terrible insomnia–bc I was always drinking soda! I had a prescription to Ambien for years and haven’t taken it once since quitting; a few weeks after quitting I flushed it down the toilet. I was drinking caffeine to wake up and taking Ambien to fall asleep–how messed up is that? Its hard to quit bc caffeine is not only accepted but encouraged by our entire society. It’s now being marketed especially to kids, which makes me livid. So that is why bold posts like yours are so necessary and refreshing. Thank you for writing this and supporting those of us who are trying to avoid this toxic addiction.
Like you said, we can function with caffeine (I did) but we’ll function so much BETTER without it. Why not be our best? It takes grit and discipline, and you won’t get much support from others (bc they’re addicted and don’t want to see you quit) but it’s the best health decision I’ve ever made. Thank you for your honesty and boldness!
I love your courage to challenge the status quo Jason.
My experiential learning ~ when it is the aligned time for us to create change ~ we are at a choice point. Do we evolve or do we stay in the comfort zone.
The comfort zone is a very distorted one on planet earth and it is a challenge at times to know what choice to make .
So many lies have been told to sell a product and keep people sacrificing their true nature ~ as you so often share in your articles.
Trying to find true unbiased articles around “scientific studies” is a maze . It is possible though if we keep on searching.
The clearer we become the easier it is to remember and intuitively know what is good for the human being . Relearning this skill and letting go of old toxic relationships on all levels ~ disciplined path and key for this year .
Astrology is revealing that this is becoming paramount now ~ key to be aware of embodiment ~ walking our talk. Very simply becoming more discerning around what we relate with .
Caffeine in it’s evolved form is a poison ~ it is what it is . It creates a need to flush it out ~ also key for lowering hypertension medication. It also elevates through stimulation ~ always a price to pay for that artificial boost. Really simple way of looking at foods that change mood. If we need this elevation ~ why ? As other people have stated ~ try life without any “boosts” and see the reality of life ~ then make changes or go down the imbalance road for a while longer and get ill. Here is an article that I found to be useful about the plants perspective and how and why they have caffeine in their biology :https://www.nytimes.com/2014/09/04/science/how-caffeine-evolved-to-help-plants-survive-and-help-people-wake-up.html
Literally they are helping us wake up to being healthy and letting go of any co dependent ways of relating. Lots of love to you all with your personal process . Thank you for speaking your truth ~ it is time to speak up at this dark time of transition.
You did a great job! This post seem extremely great.
