I know a lady who works around the clock and has the talent to be the biggest player in her industry. There’s one problem though that’s holding her back………she’s strikingly gorgeous. And if you don’t think that could ever be a problem in the achievement of someone’s goals, you don’t understand the very interesting field of self sabotage. Self sabotage has to do with a part of the mind (the subconscious) that’s designed to protect us by having us blend in, mirror and emulate the majority. There’s safety in numbers and there’s more people in the majority than the minority. Pretty simple stuff and again the subconscious is designed for safety, security and acceptance into the majority……in order to manufacture the best chances of survival.

The subconscious knows that being rich and gorgeous would feel good consciously and achieve the conscious goals desired……..but the subconscious also knows that “rich and gorgeous” is way outside the majority and not just by a little bit. Being rich and gorgeous is WAY WAY WAY outside the majority. And given the subconscious is about protection and nothing else, it has invented very clever ways so she continues to struggle and find acceptance in the mediocre, the norm and the average. If there ever erupts a battle between the conscious mind (the part of the mind that wants to rise above the majority) and the subconscious (the part of the mind that literally controls 94%-97% of our behavior)……..guess who wins? So this lady’s subconscious has invented various “beliefs” that make sure things stay average, the same, safe and secure…….in order that “rich” is never accomplished.

This lady believes that actually allowing her audience to see her body or face is shallow, underhanded, immoral and representative of not having good intentions. She believes that she has consciously formulated these ideas but of course a self sabotage coach knows the power of the subconscious mind for fully controlling the body and brain to execute what ever it deems the safer card to play…….inside an underachieving society. If you want to know the power of the subconscious to control things in the body……look up “phantom/false pregnancy”. That’s when the subconscious decides on its own that it’s safer to be pregnant and mimics pregnancy…but the lady isn’t pregnant at all. This effect can also be found in males. Yes, males. When your subconscious wants something..it gets it. So this lady hides from the camera, struggles, battles when no battle is needed and will continue to battle…..as all people who don’t understand their subconscious will do.
