The person who eats poorly now wants the same body as the person who eats well. The person who vaccinates their children wants the same healthy outcomes as the person who doesn’t vaccinate. The person who allows the TV to raise their children wants the same well adjusted teens as the person who raises their children using books and positive role modelling. The person who packs boxed and processed junk for their kid’s lunches wants their kids to be as healthy as the person who makes their child’s food from scratch. The person who’s lazy wants the same monetary rewards as the person who works hard. The person who doesn’t own one book wants the same intellectual respect as the person who’s highly educated and has read an entire library. The person who drinks alcohol every weekend wants the same skin as the person who doesn’t drink alcohol at all. The person who steals wants the same admiration as the person who’s moral. The person who acts on impulse wants the same life as the person who plans. The person who spends wants the same retirement fund as the person who saves. These sorts of delusional fantasies have now gone beyond “wants” in our society and are now bordering on demands. Most societal interactions these days, from patients addressing doctors to clients addressing health coaches…….revolve around people who don’t want to do any sort of leg work, as they literally demand everything that hard working people earn through blood, sweat and tears. Most interactions today involve one group asking what they must do to have more in life yet at the same time they’re literally admitting that they want to put forward no effort AT ALL to accomplish the goal. This sort of moral decay forces people like myself to curtail our societal interactions or remove them altogether.
