Often porn addiction is derived from a fear of connection because the childhood home was a place where connection was dangerous. When raised in a childhood where connection meant an eventual attack and then resulting emotional pain…….deep relationships become harder to maintain. In situations like this, porn can eventually offer safe ways to feel connected without the potential of attack…….plus the lack of connection also recreates the same environment of disconnection that the person is used to because they were raised in an environment of disconnection. Although that sounds odd, there’s nothing more odd than the human subconscious and what sort of behavior it manufacturers for us……..based on what environments we lived in or what environment we currently live in. In the end, porn can create other issues beyond maintaining disconnection based safety pathways in our minds.
