This is only a 40lb weight loss but it looks much greater because it’s all about health, energy and attitude as well. When we want anything in life we need to leave behind child based adaptations, which are famous for putting our security and safety first. Being our best will often bring about some sort of shaming or criticism from people who still hold firm to “fitting in” and “being afraid to stand out”. Fitting in and being afraid to change are in fact natural fears but they’re fears mostly associated with how a child navigates life, not a true adult.
A true adult, in their full adult power, can say no to pizza, beer and junk food……..and not feel afraid that they may offend the herd or be punished by the tribe for making a break toward HAPPINESS and NOT GROUP SAFETY. A true adult has no problem navigating life from their truest base of adult power……which is the power to accomplish goals other people are afraid to go for because it may offend the herd of underachievers who surround them. Getting healthy, inside an unhealthy tribe, is simply an exercise in maturing into our true adult power because we’re no longer afraid to be judged or criticized as we rise up into our best self.
Normal is child based. Exceptional is adult based. Wanting to fit in is child based. Wanting to excel is adult based. Children wonder, “will I fit in and still be liked?”. Adults don’t need the approval of anyone to become better. The picture in black is of someone who wants to fit in, be liked and to be part of the herd. The super powerful lady in blue has walked into her full adult power, absent of any other factor. Child or adult? Make a move. It’s your life. Stop playing small, so you’re more liked, as an ordinary non threatening people pleaser. One life, one time at bat. Swing for the fences. No one remembers ordinary. Stop hiding from your best life. Stop hiding from your power.
