Met a lady last week who was once obese. She gained massive amounts of weight self abusing with narcotic and sedative junk food. Then she changed. She started self abusive exercise regimes, including very destructive forms of cross fit and long distance running. She also added in an extremely restrictive diet, with absolutely no care regarding the nutrition she was getting or the quality of the food she was consuming. What changed? Only the weight changed of course. The self abuse, self attack and rage against self never ended. The self sadism and self loathing made a seamless line through her entire life. Nothing was quit, the addiction only changed forms and the addiction was to flogging oneself because it was all she thought she deserved.
Kicking the shit out of yourself with food and then changing over to kicking the shit out of yourself with exercise….means the root cause of the pain and disconnection was never addressed. This psychological condition is common today, the acting out of low self worth but trying to mask it as positive CHANGE. The biggest lies we’ll tell in our lifetime are always to ourselves. It may look like change to the untrained eye but to an experienced coach, the rage against self simmers just under the surface. In order to truly heal, one must first regain self love, and this is something that I teach each of my clients how to do. Use the FLY RULE. FLY means first love yourself…FLY!
And if you want to test if you’re truly loving yourself properly, apply my 4 YEAR OLD RULE……a rule I’ve developed for my clients. I tell my clients….”just imagine that you treat a 4 year old exactly how you’re treating yourself.” So if my client was doing steroids, I tell them to picture themselves injecting a 4 year old with steroids and then judge if TRUE LOVE is involved. If you’re running 5 miles every night but it would be cruel to make a 4 year old do the same, then it most likely isn’t good for you either. If you go home at night and smoke 3 joints but couldn’t imagine making a 4 year old smoke 3 joints at the same time………it’s most likely not good for you as well. Apply the FLY RULE and then apply the 4 YEAR OLD RULE, to see if you’re really loving yourself to the highest standard. Knowledge is power. Power up. Power to the people. Learn how to FLY. Shut down the tyrannical control grid by expressing your unique and infinite potential.

Love this! Your words inspire me!! I have been on a healing journey most of my adult life. Healed most of my childhood trauma by being a loving, strict, present parent. Now I have to continue to heal my physical obstacles. By finally following my true aspirations I am almost done with becoming a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. I am so grateful for all I am learning and what I can offer to others. Thank you for your thoughtful posts!!
