In the first article on this subject I reviewed many myths regarding standardized medical tests. I also broke down cholesterol testing into the myth that it is, as an example of what can be expected with all medical tests. Click here to read that first article.
I did review the first at home assessment you can do to test your health and that was the color of your urine. If you would like to review that first at home health based test, you can click here to visit the first article.
2) Your bowel movements can tell you plenty about your health. No one does a better job at explaining this than CHEK Practitioner Josh Rubin so I will let him explain this point via a great video presentation. Click here to watch the video or if you can see the screen just below, you can click on that as well to watch.
3) Your fat content and weight is a prime indicator and easy to assess measurement regarding your overall health. Our bodies accelerate fat cell production and water retention in the face of stress. Our body uses fat cells not only as a power source to run the stress system but the body also uses fat cells to store toxins in. When you eat poorly, the body increases fat cell production to store toxins/poisons in. Fat cells act as a great (and safe) storage containers for chemicals in our foods, our water, our air etc. Fat cells are also believed to store toxic memories and toxic thoughts. Our body also converts excess blood sugar, from high glycemic carby/sugary food choices, into fat as well. When the hormones that increase fat cell production are produced, hormones that increase water retention are also produced. The body uses the extra volume to help dilute the toxic load. A bigger you is a safer you, if you’re poisoning yourself with highly toxic processed foods and chemicals. If you’re gaining weight, have cellulite or are retaining extra water you can be sure that you need to reapply the principles of healthy living into your lifestyle. Food quality, water quality, sleep quality, exercise and relaxation are the pillars of health and the areas which you need to apply more strictly into your lifestyle.
4) Sexual function and fertility are also great at home health tests. When the body is toxic and overly stressed, one of the first metabolic systems to be affected is sexual function and fertility. If the body is toxic and fed poorly it becomes aware that there’s already too much stress and too little food/resources to maintain the health of the mother and father, let alone a new born child. The body makes these decisions for us as it’s aware that in order for a healthy child to be made, key nutritional ingredients need to be delivered in a steady way to the mother and fetus. If the parent can’t say no to excessive stress and poor food choices, the body will indeed say no for us and not place the health of the mother, the fetus or the tribe as risk. An unhealthy child and unhealthy pregnancy is not only a risk to the mother but also a risk to the entire tribe and the body is designed to preserve the health of who is currently living and in the hopes that one day the appropriate changes come about when a health pregnancy can be achieved. If a couple can’t conceive or a man is unable to maintain an erection or both partners simply have low sex drives…….they need do nothing more than again apply the pillars of health more rigidly into their lifestyles. Food quality, water quality, sleep quality, exercise and relaxation are the pillars of health. As a word of caution, using fertility drugs to force an unhealthy body and diet to manufacture a fetus can have long term consequences for the health of the child. (literally forcing the body to make a fetus from material the body doesn’t want to use or material that can’t produce a complete and vital outcome)
5) Acne is another at home health test that’s easy to identify. Acne occurs when the body is extremely toxic and when the body has a compromised digestive track. Basically the skin is known as the second liver and if the skin is full of rashes, acne and various discolorations it’s a firm indication that the diet is not only of sub par quality but the digestive track is also heavily injured from a long period of unhealthy choices. Antibiotic use is a direct factor as is over the counter pain killer use (or other medications etc)Excessive stress, alcohol, food allergies (milk, wheat, soy, corn etc) and medications rank as the top 4 factors linked directly to a disruption of proper digestive function, which can lead to acne. Basically the acne is the toxins that the body can’t place into the bladder or the bowel because those detox pathways are clogged. Too much unhealthy living clogs up the entire body. Acne is body pollution coming out of the skin. Anyone experiencing this must simply apply the pillars of health more rigidly into their lifestyles. Food quality, water quality, sleep quality, exercise and relaxation are the pillars of health.
6) Insomnia is caused by an over activation of the immune system and this over activation of the immune system is directly linked to chemical or food based threats being processed through the body or emotional traumas that are constantly re-lived either subconsciously or consciously. Organ systems also clean themselves during our sleep from 2 in the morning until 6 in the morning. When these organ systems are toxic, the cleaning application will accelerate in power and intensity…..often waking the person up. usually between 1 and 6 in the morning. Not getting a good nights sleep is not healthy on its’ own but often unhealthy habits during the day and before bed are to blame. Applying the pillars of health more rigidly into your lifestyle will help alleviate many factors associated with insomnia. but you can also apply these 33 tips for a good night’s sleep to help prepare your body to sleep soundly throughout the night.
7) Irregular menstrual cycles also indicate internal metabolic chaos, which can easily be remedied by reapplying the pillars of health more rigidly into your lifestyle. The hormones that regulate our menstrual cycles are influenced heavily by our stress cycles and our nutritional habits. Our estrogen levels increase rapidly in direct proportion to our sugar levels and our stress levels. Just as we can lose our period in times of starvation, our periods can also be disrupted with excessive amounts of estrogen. PMS is literally non-existent inside societies that consume healthy diets, low in sugary/carby/processed foods. In order to bring hormonal activity into a normal level we need do nothing more than apply the pillars of health more rigidly into our daily habits. Food quality, water quality, sleep quality, exercise and relaxation are the pillars of health.
8) Our emotions are also tied to what we eat. Eating excessive amounts of carby/sugary foods has been proven to cause everything from criminal behavior to depression and from high anxiety to schizophrenia. This video from Dr. Russell Blaylock explains. Click here to watch the video or just click play on the video below. (if it appears) Childhood experiences also have plenty to do with our happiness factor as adults. Children of divorced or separated parents, children who experienced death of a loved one at an early age, abuse encountered as a child and popular religious exposure as a child lead the pack with key programming that disrupt our happiness and satisfaction as an adult. Processing the pain of our childhood in a healthy way is key to moving past programmed feelings of guilt, shame, perfection, judgement, self inflicted suffering, self punishment, placing one’s need last to that of others, repressing anger and low self worth. For these matters I recommend JP Sears out of Carlsbad California. JP is a great person who can aid anyone in processing and working through a troubled childhood. Moving forward as an adult, with the hurt version of your child self in tow, is essential for a healthy and happy future. The best way to deal with emotional issues is to improve nutrition to optimal levels in order to eliminate if the causes of our emotional issues are nutrition based. After nutrition is optimal (and if emotional issues still exist) then moving ahead with the more costly job of contacting an experienced therapist is the next rational step in the journey to protecting the hurt child version of ourselves.
9) Yeast and other fungal and parasite infections also give us a good indication of our own state of health. Infections (regardless of viral, fungal, bacterial, yeast based or other wise) only occur in tissues that are lacking proper nutrition. These micro-organisms can only infect tissue that’s degrading and tissues that literally have holes in them for the infection to enter into. A hole only forms in a cell or tissue when it doesn’t have enough nutrition (building material) to repair the hole. Our nutrition determines our resistance to infection. Fungal infections are more common than people are aware. For example, dandruff is a fungal infection of the scalp. Thrush is a fungal infection of the throat. Asthma is a fungal infection of the lungs. Cold sores are viral infections. Eczema is a fungal infection of the skin. Vaginal yeast is a fungal infection of the vaginal tract. Jock itch is another fungal infection as is athlete’s food etc. When our tissues are falling apart because we don’t eat well, those tissues provide great food sources for these little critters. Basically when we don’t eat well, we become good food (as we rot) for other organisms. The circle of life. Click here to listen to health professional Paul Chek provide more excellent information on fungal infections.
10) Fatigue is often another great at home test one can do to quickly assess how far they are away from optimal health and how rigidly they must reapply the pillars of health into their lifestyle. Always feeling tired, feeling extremely tired half way through the day etc are all signs the body is running out of the nutritional resources related to optimal health and vitality. Often fatigue is masked by sugar, coffee or alcohol addictions so watching for those addictions also comes into play regarding making a self assessment for fatigue. As like the other items mentioned in this article, running to the hospital hoping a doctor is going to take care of your food, water, sleep, exercise and relaxation is not logical. No medical test will be run that assesses how you treat yourself and that’s the only factor that determines your health. The medical industry has very little (if any) observational or statistical evidence proving that their protocols and solutions do anything but make people more ill. Often they’re very upfront with how much extra disease you will get under their care by listing the side effects of their protocols and in regards to surgery they’ll make you sign a document saying what they’re going to do can end with a fatal outcome. Death and side effects are the opposite of health so make sure to ponder those ideas before you make your way to the hospital when you’re ill. Remember, if you are sick it’s because you aren’t getting enough quality water, quality food, quality sleep, quality exercise and quality relaxation.
