A Story of Self Sabotage And Vanity

I remember a lady who found out that her looks could bring her safety in a relatively unsafe world. We all find our own “safe” path. I know some people who find safety in “academics”, the constant validation and celebration of repeating what ever they’re told. I used to find safety in taking steroids to be a little larger and stronger, because the world constantly attacks smaller and weaker animals. (including humans) This lady found out early that “looking good” could provide her more male attention and those males could make her feel safer. So her safe zone was born and her addiction began.

All her time and monetary resources started to be funneled toward anything that made her look good and what ever could be done to attract the alpha male, to protect her and make her feel safe. She went bankrupt twice buying the latest fashion. When she thought she looked a little fat, she took some fat burners, drank some coffee (which actually causes fat gain by the way) and skipped a couple of meals. She decorated the exterior of her house, the exterior of her body and the exterior of everything the public viewed…..with passion. Everything had to be perfect for her to maintain her safe zone. Everything became about the exterior and because no effort was placed on the interior, the interior started to fail. All her make-up (the vast majority made from crude oil), all her toxic fat burners and all the self abusive flogging of her natural body to conform to unattainable standards (including plastic surgeries and esthetic medical applications)……..has now brought disease to her door. Disease is a guardian, not a goblin. Disease is there to balance imbalanced situations, to remind us that CHANGE is needed because CHANGE is a constant of nature. To survive, you need to change. Could this lady change in time to save herself? That’s a question posed to hundreds of millions of people every day. Most don’t make it because they don’t understand that change is a skill that needs to be mastered and that sometimes you need to change on a dime, even though making the change before the storm hits is the most effective way to navigate life.

Self sabotage is about “what got you here, can’t get you there”. Self sabotage is about, “what used to save you, now starts to kill you”. Focusing on the exterior helped this lady survive a hard time in her youth, but now it’s time to change….and she’s having a hard time making this natural transition from child to adult. Self sabotage is about being stuck in the past and being afraid to CHANGE, evolve, ascend and morph into something different. Most safe zones collapse into prisons overtime and that’s our cue to change. This lady keeps getting her lips injected, skips another meal, drinks some wine and then is rushed to the hospital with abdominal pain because nature keeps trying to remind her that she must let go of the past, in order to best secure her future. Her old safe zone is now destroying her and it’s up to her to change or perish. This year, let go of what no longer serves you. Let your pain and your fear consume you, listen to the message that the pain brings and walk freely into your best life. If you require help changing, leaving your old safe zone and overcoming your self sabotage….I coach on these matters, simply and effectively. Embrace change and allow someone who has walked the path to guide your journey.
