I remember this guy who was drinking alcohol heavily and wasting his money buying everyone drinks, trying to buy friends at the bar……where no one is even a friend to themselves, let alone to anyone else. He would buy bags and bags of cocaine after coming into some money, trying to sedate to his pain, pain he didn’t even know he had because he refused to look at it. He refused to spend one day not under the sedative influence of sugar, wheat, sleep deprivation, sexual pleasure, alcohol or narcotics. When he was alone, he was terrified because he didn’t know nor like the company.
Everything revolved around the hedonistic self destructive North American dream of ….more, more, more. Me, me, me……all day, everyday. Like many frightened people, living inside an inverted and immoral society, he always felt like he was going to be attacked for not being like everyone else or for being weak. This fear is what lead him to perpetually self medicate with self destructive tranquilizing agents but it also lead him to the use of steroids. In our society, the weak are perpetually attacked. If you’re weak, the rest of the society is drawn to abuse, mock and assault you on every level imaginable. It doesn’t matter if it’s the politicians and their friends caught molesting kids down at the local church or the local bully finding the weakest kid in the school yard and pushing them to the ground. The message is clear in our corrupted top down tyrannical society, weaknesses brings attack.
So not only was my client messed up on every chemical toxin he could find, he also started using steroids to try and gain some sort of mental stability inside a system that only permitted the strong to walk unmolested down the street. If that wasn’t bad enough, this guy’s mind started to fail him, and this is what’s so hard for many people to understand…..that the mind goes first sitting inside a bowl of toxic sludge. He made extremely bad decisions in the areas of romance, finance and friendship. His daily routine literally involved stepping into one bucket of crap, jumping out in terror and then firmly stepping into two more. Then one day he said to himself, “why not try putting all this effort into being your very best for 1 year and see how it goes? If you don’t like it, at least you know you tried and you can also go back to being a human mess if that’s what suits you after the year is up.” A pact was made internally with himself and guess what, he went that one year and it’s been almost 20 years of constant improvement, no breaks, no fall backs, no regressions. Everything has healed. His relationships are sound. His mind works at speeds he never could imagine. His business is growing. He doesn’t drink alcohol or coffee, doesn’t eat junk, only drinks spring water, goes to bed by 10:00 pm every night, exercises 5 days per week and leads one of the healthiest lives in his community. He has agreed for me to share his name and that client was and is……..me.
