11 Insider Tips For Starting Your Own Business

1. Visit a bank and ask them for their business plan outline. By seeing what the bank requires for a business loan, you can start teaching yourself what to do next. Get out of the stands and get into the game. Don’t be shy. Be professional, kind and get moving toward a life of greater freedoms. .

2. Work at the sort of business you want to open. By working at a business similar to what you want to open, you can gain valuable knowledge as to the inner workings of that particular business. Don’t worry about an educational degree. The most successful business people have no degrees and know that degrees are generally useless for business success. You’re not starting a product that competes with Apple or IBM. You just want to double or triple your income and you don’t need a degree to get that done in most cases.

3. Regardless of where you work currently, be polite, punctual and professional at all times. Plan for your future business now by establishing yourself as an honest and hard working person, which the public can trust. Prepare for success at all times by polishing your reputation as a clean, moral, upstanding, professional and trust worthy person in your community. Don’t gossip, don’t stir the shit pot and don’t only work hard when your current boss is looking………those are signs of someone who will fail in business. No one likes a slacker. Saying that, you can change at anytime if you happen to be a little outside of what’s needed for business success. Take your life seriously and get moving with a vision.

4. Be healthy. If you’re not healthy, you won’t have the energy to make it in business today. So start with your health and not just the North American “I eat pretend healthy food during the week and get drunk on the weekends” sort of healthy. REAL HEALTH. Stop abusing yourself and start loving yourself because again………healthy people are just more awesome to deal with in business. Be that person and watch the success roll in. Protect your brain and body because you’ll need both to be successful in business. Don’t treat yourself like a garbage dump and expect to have the energy and IQ to excel. The most destructive substances today that destroy body and brain function are…1) vaccines 2) coffee and caffeine products 3) mercury teeth fillings 4) cigarettes 5) alcohol 6) medications 7) fluoride 8) marijuana and other narcotics 9) sugar 10) science chemicals and 11) processed junk foods. Most people today can’t even get to work on time in a 30 day stretch without being sick at least a couple of times. The competition out there today for opening a business is weak because most people are too unhealthy and too indoctrinated to make a move on their best life. It’s easy pickings. Get out there and take full advantage. Also look the part. Gear down on the tattoos, the piercings, the swearing, the drinking, the smoking, the colored hair, the attitude, the latest fashions and any behavior that says you’re too confused about your life direction to put one foot in front of the other. Running with the herd means you’re a follower and not a leader. Saying that, you can change at anytime. Business success is about leadership. Get clear on your goals, get motivated, get focused…….make it happen.

5. Stop worrying about money. If you have a good idea, the money will find you. A healthy person, with lots of energy……..who is professional at all times and who has a good idea…………are money magnets. There are loan programs provided by different levels of governments and there are lots of rich awesome folks wanting to help out people who deserve it. Be that person. When I started my first business I had $6000. I saved it working at East Side Mario’s as a waiter during the day and at Simmons Mattress at night. The businesses I own, have owned or have helped open have grossed over $100 million dollars. Do I have $100 million dollars? Not even close…….but I will retire and I’ll be able to eat organic and take care of my family. (and any emergencies along the way)…..and that’s all I care about.

6. Find a business guru on youtube who can deprogram your fears about opening a business…..set into you by our human farmers. If you haven’t noticed, there’s no radio station channel in the morning that helps you start your own business. Just useless chatter and mind numbing music…….the lie-ahria of the day. I call it slave talk. Public schools are absent of business development programs or courses and even in University business programs, the focus is you just working for some larger soulless corporation. Thanks but no thanks. They’re trying to make sure you never become more. Take it personally and turn the tables on them. They try to keep you down because business is easier than they advertise it to be.

7. Most small business owners would love to sell their business so don’t be afraid to find a business worth purchasing and investigate a potential purchase deal. Maybe you already work there. Maybe you and 5 other staff members can pool your resources to make an offer. You already know how to run the business in most cases, so why not own it yourself or own it with some of the competent and key people who already work there? Can such a plan work? Of course it can. Make a move on your best life and start to free yourself of the slave mentality.

8. Be in full control of your language. Master the spoken and written word. Effective communication skills aren’t taught in school, they’re mastered through practice and a dedication to presenting yourself in a professional manner at all times. Our human farmers are skilled architects of using media influences to destroy a slave’s ability to rise above their slavery. Slang words like dude, bud, man, rad, stoked, like, cool, awesome, hun, gnarly, epic, fresh, killed it, groovy, wicked, fly, my bad, word, sweet, peeps, jacked, bro, smokin etc etc. Our human farmers drive these phrases and words into our minds, decade by decade, via mind numbing media messages…..until the slave has no ability to use language for effective communication and leadership. Hearing someone speak using the programmed slang (from several decades) is like hearing a person drag their fingers down a chalk board. Don’t swear and don’t use slang. Master the written and spoken word. It’s about developing trust, leadership and respect in your community. Be professional and moral at all times. It doesn’t matter what degree you have if you can’t lead and communicate effectively.

9. Remember everyone’s name and write notes about people in your phone etc etc. It’s not creepy, it’s about caring enough to make a person feel welcome in your business. Name, wife’s name, name of children and other information. Go that extra mile. Do it now before you open your business. Start NOW. Every 3 months I send out one of my staff members to deliver my wife’s delicious protein balls to all the companies we do business with during the year and we drop off some fitness club memberships for their staff. Network the best you can. I don’t get drunk on the golf courses so I invented my own way of showing I care without compromising my health. If you remember everyone’s name, you’ll be a smashing success……..and they won’t teach you that in Harvard business school because that’s all you really need.

10. Once you open your own business, work really hard, expecting to sell it by the 5th year. Unload it, relax, take a couple years off….and work on the next idea. You can’t work that hard forever and most successful business people are in the business of growing and selling businesses………and then doing it all over again once they recharge their minds and bodies. This is the most profitable way to run a business in most cases, while making sure that short term goals drive your best performance and interest in the business.

You show what it takes to be living proof of your own words. Strong of heart and mind, healthy, clear minded, goal orientated. It’s important we share all share our light, our clarity and our essence to remind people that they too have it within them. That they too need to remember their free born right to FREE WILL.

No one gets rich going to school. Just go ask any rich person. Most will laugh if you mention school, as a way to get wealthy. School is anti wealth in the majority of cases. Good work Patrick.

Great share Jason, thank you and good timing! My youngest daughter thinks she may want to go to culinary school one day. She unschooled her entire life, volunteered in soup kitchens, senior centers and worked special events. She started working in the food industry after graduation, deciding that she might want to be a chef. She was promoted twice in less than a year and continues to learn and observe way more about management, vendors, customer service, employee relations, food prep, handling and safety, etc., than she likely would have having gone a differing route first. She devours cook books, is a natural at substitutions and altering recipes, and knowledge of spices and herbs. She watches interviews with high profile chefs who almost all share that they were still broke and job hopping for many years after culinary school AND it was their own hard work and drive that got them where they are. She hasn’t yet ruled it out, but I feel she has a much healthier perspective and remains happy, creative and still writing her own narrative. Reading your list and having these suggestions shared from someone other than “Mom”, was really nice!
