There exists the adult ego and the child ego. Each are valuable parts of the psyche. The child ego thinks 5, 10 and 15 hours down the road. The adult ego thinks 5, 10 and 15 years down the road. This information is very valuable when someone needs to assess what part of the ego is dominating their activities and how to overcome any self sabotaging behaviors that are dominating their life.
When a person spends money, with no care for the future, what part of the ego is involved? Is this person thinking hours or years down the road? When a person smokes, what part of the ego is involved? Is this person thinking logically about the future or just about immediate satisfaction and instant release? When someone is diving head first into a gallon of ice cream at night, because they don’t want to face their reality………what part of the ego is involved? Today the truth is simple. We live inside a society that encourages adults live in the child ego. This of course is guaranteed to cause pain. Pain is always there to remind us to think harder and to manifest more adult based behavior…………BUT in our inverted society our human farmers advertise to us that pain means you simply need more involvement from the child ego. This of course guarantees a cycle of futility and more pain. This makes us stuck in our stuckness. Our human farmers trap us in “a life of less” by telling us that we need more of what’s not working and more of what was never designed to work. The key to overcoming self sabotage is allowing the true adult ego to drive our life bus. People today are in trouble because their child ego is the part of the psyche that dominates their adult lives. The child thinks of now. The adult thinks of the future. What ego is driving your life bus and how much pain (feedback) are you getting? Want to get less pain and build a better future?
I’m doing one live seminar this year on how to overcome self sabotage. It is April 28th in Cornwall. If you would like to attend please call my health center at 613.932.4766 for more information.
