What passes or fails the test, is the test itself, not the person you’re testing. It’s hard to believe a multi-billion dollar industry like the sport’s industry isn’t verifying how many amplification cycles the lab techs are setting the RT-PCR machine at because you could literally mark the entire first line of a professional sports team as sick (when they’re perfectly healthy) if you crank the machine up to its higher levels, which would be perfect for illegal sports betting. If you can mark the star players of any team as “sick” before a big game because you pay the lab tech to crank the machine up, you’re sitting pretty, as you start controlling who plays that day and who doesn’t.
