1. He started off by saying…”have you ever spent $10,000 on a vacation?” I said “yes” and he said, “so you spent $10,000 without anything to show for it when it was all said and done…..no asset to your name after you blew $10,000?” and I said “yes” and he said “so tell me why you can’t take $10,000 and invest it in a highly volatile stock (with massive profit potential if you win) even if you may lose it all? If you can waste $10,000 on a vacation without getting nervous, why not invest the same $10,000 in a brand new emerging company. without getting nervous as well?” I said, “I’ve never thought of it like that” and he said, “you’re failing and can do better “
2.How many books on making money have you ever read? And I said “about 3” and he asked “over how many years?” and I said “over 20 years” and he said, “you’re failing and you can do better.”
3. Do you have a nice house? And I said “yes” and he said “do you have equally large income properties?” and I said “no, I do not” and he said “why would you spend all that money on a residence that takes money out of your pocket every month and not invest the same amount in 2 or 3 income properties that put money in your pocket every month?”, I said “I don’t know?” and he said, “you’re failing and can do better.”
My wealth advisor then told me,”your health game is great but your wealth game needs improvement. Let’s get to work.” And that’s how I started working on my wealth as eagerly as I work on my health. He then said, “you’re now working for money, let’s make sure money works for you instead. Let’s turn this ship right around. It’s time to stop making money, only to waste it on liabilities and other things that destroy your wealth.”
