In order to master self sabotage you must understand that there will be no rewards, recognition, celebration or lime light when you decide to be your absolute best. In our inverted society the only time warm and fuzzy emotions are handed out for positive reinforcement is when you comply, obey, play small and stay inside the lines. Our society loves when you do exactly what you’re told….even though doing exactly what you’re were told usually makes you completely miserable and unhealthy as you age.
When you rise up, you’ll only feel resistance. When you fall, a crowd will gather around you to make sure you’re OK. It’s OK to fall, fail and give up in our cult of sameness……but it’s never OK in our inverted society to succeed or rise up to your full potential. No one who’s a chronic failure offends anyone. The easiest way to blend in…is to never try to be more than the herd of mediocrity. Will you trade in your unique talents and creativity for safety and security? Your social engineers are betting you will. Everyone who decides to be more or better and rise up offends the programmed herd of naysayers, who are terrified of change. In order to move in the direction that will bring genuine happiness and prosperity into your life, you must make peace with the fact that as you rise up, the society at large will feel intimated because you’re leaving for something better. Feel that pressure, let it ring the fear alarms inside your mind…..and leave for something better anyway. Why play small when you were destined to hit it out of the park?
