Using Social Media Content To Judge Someone’s Fear In Childhood

When children are raised in PTSD environments, they become extremely compliant with authority and the direction of the herd, simply because complying and “not rocking the boat” is the easiest way a traumatized child can regain a sense of safety and security. I can often spot highly traumatized children (who have grown into highly traumatized adults) by looking at their social media pages. The ultimate “people pleaser type” who can’t handle any sort of criticism from the crowd (because their fear reservoir is already full to the brim) is the person who has a social media account but never posts anything and never comments on anything either. They simply scroll through everyone else’s pages (and the feed), not because they’re really interested in what others are doing but because this person is highly interested in downloading what the crowd thinks, dresses like and how it behaves……so they can copy, mimic and emulate what the “the group” is doing, in order to best blend in. When someone is traumatized and living in chronic fear….blending in with the herd and making everyone “like them” is the most logical adaptation. Although logical when we’re young, it will completely derail our long term happiness as adults. Fitting in, not standing out, not having your own personal opinion and “going along to get along” is the primary behavioral characteristics of the PTSD impacted child. This person has not gone through the adult forming rite of passage called “individuation”, the process of becoming their own person, absent of group or herd control.

The level down from simply mimicking and never being seen on social media (yet scrolling frantically)…..is sharing posts, instead of expressing your own opinion. The more “shares” on a page (compared to original content), the more trauma was involved in that person’s childhood, simply because that person has become too scared to put their own opinion on public display, in case the attack comes. There are many variations to these PTSD adaptations yet they all involve “murdering self” and adopting the beliefs, actions and materialism/adornments of the tribe, in order to say…..”I’m one of you, don’t hurt me. How could you ever hurt someone exactly like yourself?” The solution to this problem is first to recognize these symptoms, which indicate that a proper spiritual evolution hasn’t taken place and then to start evolving as quickly as possible. When we allow others to guide our lives, behaviors and thoughts……we die a very painful death, never experiencing life as our true selves.
